but only for my supporters! I'd better hurry...a storms brewing outside. I can hear the thunder getting louder and LOUDER! The last months have flown by. GA Young Adult Retreat in January. Zach & Shelley came as guests and were fabulous...that's what I've been told. That weekend was the begining of my month of being sick! I made two trips to the emergency room that week and one trip to a regular doctor. A catscan and a bunch of tests later...one which involved sticking an extra long q-tip up my nose...found that it was a combo of migraines, sinus infection, fluid behind the left ear, and a viral infection. After all of that I literally spent the next 3 weeks coughing. It was an interesting time. I can say that I am blessed to have such caring friends who listened to me whine and cough and I am totally blessed to have insurance. De came to visit me one weekend. It snowed and everyone in ATL freaked out. They even cancelled church on Sunday at most of the corps around here because there was some snow dust on the ground.
See the snow dust in the background. Yes, my hair is a bit orange in this photo. The result of a hair disaster that began before Christmas involving some black hair dye, then bleach, then some other things. It's nearly normal now. Some other stuff happened in January, but I really can't remember what it was. Went to Officer's Councils in February in St. Augastine, FL. It was wonderful being in the warm weather for a week. I had the most amazing bread pudding there at The Columbia.
The picture does not do it justice. Went on a ghost tour with the girls in historic St. Augastine. We had a lot of laughs. This was taken before we went on the tour.
This was at the Columbia.
We also put together a poster size NKOTB puzzle that Amanda found in her thrift store. If you don't know what NKOTB stands for, I'll pray for you. Just kidding, of course! (i mean, i'll still pray for you, but not for that reason!)
It was beautiful. Again, a bunch of other stuff happened in February and I can't remember...lots of traveling. Youth Band rehearsals...some other things. It's really sad that I can't remember and it wasn't that long ago. Oh yeah, I went to the ACA conference in Nashville. That was, um...interesting? March has been crazy. Tons of traveling and it has been wonderful. I got my Georgia Drivers License...so I'm officially a Georgia Peach! It only took me 4 or so hours at DDS (not the dentist, Department of Driver Services). When they finally handed me my license, my name was spelled wrong! So I had to wait just a little bit longer. I also survived getting my first flat tire. I ran over some debris that was left over from an accident that had just happened and totally ripped one of my tires to shreds. Luckily, my parents were in town and came and waited (especially since it was 11 at night) with me until AAA came to put the donut on. I spent the first three days of this week as the parent of a 13 year old and 3 year old. I had officer friends in town for a conference at the school so the kids stayed with me. We had a blast together. Kids are just absolutely hilarious. I was driving A & A (the kids) home from the grocery store and A (the 3 yr old) became extremely quiet in the backseat...very unusual...he's a BIG talker. So I asked, "A, what are you doing?" A replied, "Playin' with my boogers." Sure enough, he was. And when he was done, he put them back in his nose. Yesterday and today was spent in Bright from the Start/USDA training. Wow. Tomorrow I am off to Macon to do some teacher training things...it'll be fun. I'd better submit this..the lights are flickering! Much love. |
